cool. i dont plan on ever doing this, but was just wondering since the launch technique seems to be common knowledge to a majority of members.

It is really the only way to launch the car. You can't ease out on the clutch because the car doesn't have enough torque. You have to have the car in the power band to be able to break the tires loose. For anyone who understands torque, it's a no brainer.

My S is more important to me than any silly girl that revs at me at some stop light....

for some reason, this thread makes me really happy. =)

1. rev to 6-7k
2. drop the clutch
3. hold the rev till tires catch
4. it's go time! lol

ive done it twice so far on my 07. While the tires are spinning, u're gonna have to countersteer a bit because the tail of the car will start swerving. A few times won't do much damage so it's worth a try just to know how ur car reacts to certain things. It's also FUN!!!! and can get addicting.

no car is made for drag racing. it's too hard on the tranny and differentials, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

feather so you'll get grip without bogging.

just go in and out, in and out, in and out. you know how to do that, don't you? in and out, in and out. lol

I think this should be the way:

1: 6K rpm
2: sidestep clutch, wheels instantly are spinning
3: hold rev above 6k rpm, wait until the tires stop spinning and get grip 4: on that exact moment floor it 100% and go go go
So basically, exactly like I said in my original post?
