launch technique!
plan on expensive repair costs when dumping the clutch and launching any car.... but cuz its fun and makes us feel good we're gonna do it with no regard to damages till their done.....
the first few times i dumped the clutch on my evo and smelled burnt cookies i stopped and realized the impressive performance numbers are strictly for magazines and their testers - they test the car and dont have to live with it and damages and wear done.
the first time i smelled the burnt cookies in my dad's s2000 i never tried to launch it again as well
i thought the evo being a "strong" car and seeing the commercials and option video this and best motoring that could take the luanches. SURE CANT. its about as weak as the S2000.

How many of the failures are the result of literally "dropping the clutch." That's just asking for trouble, and is abuse, not a sign of a weak clutch or driveline.
How many people sit stopped on hills using the clutch to keep the car from rolling backwards? Automotive clutches get more abuse than any other component on any car that has a manual transmission, and far more clutches fail due to abuse than due to high mileage.

On street tires, sidestep the clutch at 5,500-6,000. DO NOT slip the clutch. Hold the clutch with just your toes and pull your foot straight down with the rpms holding steady at your desired launch range. As long as you break the tires free and get them spinning, the damage should be minimal.
P.S. I do not take responsibility for any damage done to your car. Do not try this at home. Product contains small parts that are insuitable for children under 3.

I'm going to try and sum up all the posts here. If you want a good jump off the line, it's expensive.
1st you have to buy a new clutch (performance), something designed for track use.
2nd A reinforced diff, and take my word for it, it's necessary. I've already had to replace my stock one. Thank god for warranties.
3rd Wider rear tires, this isn't as necessary as the other 2, but more traction will always help line launching.
4th And if you want even better launches, do upgrades focusing on torque.
