I launch aound 6000-6500 as well. I try to feather it, instead of just dropping it, as this usually just eats the clutch. Anybody else agree? ndcruisin17, I live in Sioux Falls, about 4 hours straight south on 90.

I'm new at high rpm launches. What is "feathering" the clutch mean??? Does it mean to release the clutch fast but not necesarially dropping it???

yeah something like that, feathering the clutch means you smoothly and progressively release the clutch instead of just dumping the clutch.

I drop it a little over 6, but I don't feather it at all. I drop the clutch so I don't burn it up. Better the tires burn than the clutch. But thats just me, I find it much much better that way.

Thats a good place to start, depends on track and weather conditions. Good luck experimenting.

That PSI in rear tires seems way off to me, your not geting full grip on launch. In auto-x ( i know its different ) I run 35 front, 32 rear, any more in the rear and the tires dont seem to grip as good. IMO for drag, try 25-30 rear, and do 45 up front. Lower PSI to help them back tires grip off the line, and the higher PSI in fronts so your not plowing (should be less rolling resistance). Please correct me if im wrong, but i thinks i might be right?
Thanks
Steve
