No offense intended, but I think the S2000 is capable of beating the Type-R by more than .2 in the 1/4 mile. Sev's fastest time yet is a 13.8, while the fastest stock Type-R time he's seen is 14.4.

His best was 14.40, he has done it numerous times, and my best was 13.855 and i have done numerous 13.9s as well.
So about half a second, 5 car lengths is about right.
Instead of just bringing the rpm's up and holding it then pegging the gas and popping the clutch, I've noticed that it's better to rev it a little first, like the three step method, rev to about 4, rev to about 5, rev to about 6/6.5 and peg and pop, if you get too much slip, threshold the clutch. I'm running 5.6's pretty much contantly. Which is pretty decent.
DJ- I say that would put your location to the greatest drag strip in the world at about 3 minutes away. 2 minutes for our soon to be owner in LaVerne. If your bold swing by every Sunday and wait for a CHP training session. Kindly ask for the instruction officer, then ask some inane question about handling when the class is over. You may get a real lesson...timing is CRITICAL. I got several "lessons" in my old '74 Pantera a few years back. Be nice and note you don't race on the street but are "curious". You may get skid pad, braking, slalom...who knows..depends what's set up when you make your introduction.
Hint: Great view from Mountain Meadows Golf course overlooking the grounds (18th hole area). If your a pilot you can do touch and goes out of Bracket...around Puddingstone Reservoir (that was my method), approach is right over the skid pad.
