Well, finally with enough pulling, stretching, mutalating and general destruction (I'm talking about what I did to my hands ), I finally got it installed. I guess my interpretation of "tight fit" was something a bit milder!

Thanks to all for the encouragement - now after my hands heal, I may be able to get back in my S!

So when we call for installation support, the answer will be "shove it"?

Rick, what is the status on the V1 holder for the visor cover? I am waiting to order based on this.

No, it will be "pull it!"

We know it's tough to do, but it had to be to ensure the tight fit necessary to good final appearance.

Chambers,

The prototype for the V1 pocket shipped to James Mullins for testing on Friday, so we're only a few weeks away. If all is well with the fit, it will work with the stock visors as well as those that have the leather visor covers.

Rick,
One more question. Will it fit the new, smaller V1 or the older, larger unit?

Thanks.

One possible suggestion for fitting the cover on the visor....

You may want to wet the leather a bit. It will stretch. Then put it on the visor. as it dries it should shrink a bit and tighten up.

Rick, did you do something to stop the zipper pull from scratching the top liner?

barry-
i removed my zipper pulls after the installation to avoid the problems discussed above (actually one broke off while installing, so i used pliers to get it on- and that gave me the idea to remove the other one).
now mine dont rub on the plastic top liner...

Which side does the zipper home at, on the side with the screw?

If so, the answer would be to provide the proper size washer with the visor covers, to mount behind the screw bracket, which would move the visor away from the plastic.

The new version, although it might work with the older as well. If not, we'll make a second version for that.

Barry,

James Mullins will have to help, and I'll ask him. I have no visors on my car (gave them up for the Street Pilot III install), so I'm not sure. I would imagine, however, that thin slice of black electrical tape would do the trick.
