Default LED Taillights for 00-03

I have always liked the LED lights in the newer gen cars but cant justify buying new lights for something that people behind me will enjoy and not me.

I was thumbing through a magazine and came upon on these guys Ad. Replacement LED Lights

They seem to be a cheap alternative for people who want LED tail lights.

So my question is, any of you have any experience with these? Are they a total Pep Boys or APC upgrade or do they actually work as advertised. Will I need the LED Exhaust tips to match?

LEDs need resistors and heat sinks to work right. the pep boys/apc ones don't have them.

I've heard good things.

I just ordered a pair of the 3-Arm medium-sized model. I'm still wondering if the large version would work since the extra size would be nice to have. As much as I love the 04/05 LED tail lights, I still prefer two circles over three. Just my opinion. I'll let you guys know what I think when they're installed.

I'm curious how these fit as well. What 'base' did you order?

those Spiderlites where featured on Horsepower TV on the Speed channel. I do not know if they work on our cars, but they are supposed to be good products.

LEDs need resistors and heat sinks to work right.
The spiderlites should have these built-in.

Let me know how they work...might be worth the investment.

Hmmm...very interesting indeed. The biggest issue with the cheaper LED "replacement bulbs" was that their light output was directional and didn't light up the housing because the light never hit the reflectors. I would love to see a pic of how these look in an S2k tailight. Heck I'd even be interested in putting them in my RSX as well.

I read that there is also a "timing" issue with replacing conventional bulbs with LEDs - The LED turn signals tend to flash at a much faster rate - 3-4x.

I emailed the company today - quick responses

They say the small version fits best which comes out to 6 forward facing and 6 rear facing LED's (12 total). Too bad the 5-arm versions don't fit. Let us know if the medium works out.

superbrightleds.com sells a 15 LED combo (9 forward and 6 sideways) for like $8.
