Left engine running for an hour, car just sitting there, any damage done?

Unless you had a brick on the gas pedal, no.

what the heck were you doing? Oh, I guess you're one of those people that parks the car in neutral, huh? If you park in gear, this won't happen. You just get that nice lurch and cough when the car dies after you take your foot off the clutch.

Don't laugh. I was about to leave my office. I started the engine, got out of the car to put the car cover in the trunk and accidentally locked myself out. Had to get a ride home to get the spare key and back to the
"scene". Engine was running with loud music and HIDs on. Pretty stupid. Everybody laughed at me in the office.

Note to self: Roll down window when I need to step out with engine on.

call me paranoid, especially with an aftermarket alarm - but this is why I roll down my window even if I'm doing something like getting something out of the trunk or just stepping out for a moment.

well... no car damange, a few bucks in gas, but that doesn't hurt much. =)

Probably actually helped the engine... got the juices flowing, got good operating temp, woulda cleaned out some gunk if there was any in the engine... you actually probably did good to your car.... but if it had been like 3 hours, then I would have been worried

That is funny. . .and not in a bad way! Being locked of your car is a pain in the ass! Same thing happened to me last week, fortunately I had a spare key in my office!
