Optimum conditions:

-no snow

-garaged

-regular maintenance

-not beating the piss out of it ever second your in the car (perfectly fine to beat regularly of course)

The S could go for at least a couple hundred thousand. My S's clock is at 115K and my brother in law claims it drives like the day he took it off the lot. It drives like a new car and sings like an angel. It's an '03 and should last for at least another 10 years.

Thanks for all the replies. I agree with many of them and think it can easily go 25 years and still look good. I must disagree with those who are telling me to look at classic cars as an example. I own them. I restore them. No my friends, they did not last 25 years and still look and run fine with just maintenance and replacement of the wear items. They wore out and needed restoration if they were really used. I don't consider major components like an engine to be a wear item. While engines eventually wear out, a standard wear item is one that is designed to be replaced at certain intervals like the brake pads and shocks. Think of it this way, if the car is 20 or 25 years old and is only worth $5K to $7K, then a wear item is something you would replace when needed and not really think about the cost compared to the value of the car. At that point, and engine may make you decide to junk the car, while most folks would just go ahead and replace a clutch or brakes if needed.

The point of using classic cars as an example is if those could be made to last till now without extrodinary measures then a car as high tech as the S could even more easily.

Had 147k hard miles on my Suzuka 02' and never a failure... 5 valve adjustments, 2 sets of pads and multiple tire replacements. Still had 230+ compression on all 4 cylinders when I got rid of it recently. All about maintenance...

I'm more interested in how long a boosted S with proper mods would last, excluding turbine maintenance (seals/bearings)..? Anyone have high miles boosted without issues?

Abuse is also a relative term.. Some consider revving an F engine to redline daily "abuse". I did it for over 100k miles, and it never caused a problem.

quick answer ...looks at the forced induction thread ...Here i'll save you the time "NO" ...if Honda didn't design it for the car to begin with adding it surely does not improve the car at all ...it ruins it IMO ....ive been in a boosted S and thought to myself how sad . My car is so much more balanced and fun to really drive hard ...its no contest ...you want a faster car , save your money and go buy a mustang with 100 shot ...and call it a day ...leave the S the way it was always meant to be ...THE WAY HONDA MEANT .
