For anyone that's already got a hardtop, or is waiting for a delivery of one:
I've been in touch with the design manager of Harken to discuss adapting their 4-point hoist system for use with the S2K hardtop. I have to wait for mine to be delivered, at which time I'll provide him with measurements etc. which will allow him to configure one of their existing products for our use. (Check out their hoist system at http:www.harken.com ) Harken has already indicated that they could consider a discount based on the number of units ordered (a group buy I guess that means).
I wouldn't mind getting an idea who might be interested, so e-mail me if you are. I'll also ask Giampiero to put me in touch with those who've already bought hardtops, but aren't yet members of s2Ki.

I'm looking for a professional piece of hardware, not a couple of pulleys, tiedowns, and few 2 x 4s from Home Base. Hoping other owners might want the same. If you know of a cheaper source that meets this requirement, I'd be glad to know.

This one for the Porsche 996 looks pretty good.
BHMA sells several different hoist kits. http://www.bhma.com/

Perfect! Thanks Kens2k. This seems just what is needed. At less than $200 this would be a very fair price.
I've e-mailed BHMA and asked if any of the listed hoists will work for the S2K, or to let me know their supplier can provide one.
Thanks again for researching this Ken.

I've made a rig using about $90 bucks to hoist a 60 lb kayak to the ceiling of my garage. If you're interested in a home made job to save more money, come up and take a look.

Thanks Gregg. Another great source. I especially like the rollaway cart for the hardtop: http://store.yahoo.com/mossmotors/hartopcarcov.html
(Hope there is SOMEBODY out there who's interested in this!)
