In another thread people were complaining about having to duck to see traffic lights.
This is pretty much a universal problem in convertible and low cars. I try to remember to stop shorter when I am in the convertible, but often it is not practical or I just forget.
I had seen something about a plastic lens you could apply to the top of the window to allow you to see the light without ducking. Someone was nice enough to send me the link:
I ordered one and after only 10 weeks. . .. . .I finally received one! Honestly, it does not work well for me in the car! I was really excited because it is a problem to see the traffic light at times. I really thought this Light-in-Sight would be the solution! It was'nt. COnsiquently, I no longer have it on my S2000. In addition, it looked wierd on the windshield as you can see it from the outside and folks used to always ask me what it was! At any rate, hope it works better for you!
I bought one right after Car & Driver mentioned it in a long-term test. WHile not perfect, it does the job. The two complaints I have (and I doubt they can be optically or physically fixed) are:
1) Strong backlighting (bright sky around the traffic light) makes it hard to determine what color the light is.
2) The size of the image is smaller than I'd like (makes #1 more evident). However, less angle of acceptance for a larger image size would also mean less angle of view.
No, it's not perfect but it sure has reduced my neck stretches...
Wow! It seems that lately, around here, you wait for the opposite light to turn Red, count to 3, look in both directions for the yahoo blowing through the red light and then pray and go.
