I was wondering how much faster the S can get as you
shed more weight.

how fast do you think the S would be if someone was able to
shed about 400lbs? would that f up the balance?

there are several S2K's on this board in the 2300-2400 lb. weight range. They still handle great and are faster than stock obviously. Since every one of those cars that I know of uses their car for road racing and Auto-x exlusively, I don't think any of them has 1/4 times to offer.

I've heard 100lbs equals .1 sec, doesn't sound that accurate though, but just something I've heard

when im alone the car feels faster then when i have a passenger, so i assume taking 150-200lbs out of your car would be like you arent even there

Losing 100lb is about the equivalent to gaining 7-8whp and .1-.15 1/4 mile and 1-2mph trap speed gain. So, your T1-R and your spare taken out probably shed you about 60lb. Probably not very noticable (4whp gain maybe??). You've gotta take out 100+ lb to feel anything significant.

a start would be something along these lines:

all this this can get very expensive...like the HT and hood, wheels, trunk..

1. remove ac/heater core
2. remove soft top for mugen or amuse HT..CF HT is mad doe!!!
3) CF/kevlar bucket seats
4) light weight header and all titanium exhaust along w/ titanium test pipe
5) Light weight wheels & tires (16" volk CE28)
6) MOMO or other steering wheel...also remove pass airbag
7) remove center glove box
8) light weight suspension & brake kit <---if this is possible
9) maybe J's intake (all CF so that can shave some pounds)
10) Super light weight hood (c-west, mugen, amuse, j's)
11) Dry Carbon trunk or other CF trunk
12) CF fenders (dont know if this will help much)
13) C-West dry carbon doors if u can afford it...lol
14) craft square or Vision or APR CF mirrors

please add to this list guys..dont know what else im missing

So what he's saying is, $10,000 later, you'll have your 2400lb S2000.

screw that!!!

Buy a hard top, and GUT the interior removing everything including dash, heater, AC, Windows, etc.

You have a 2350lb s2k.
