Default lightweight battery- too low for engine bay?

I am in need of a new battery, and was wondering if the aftermarket lightweight versions for sale are any good. do they last as long? Best brand? Would you buy it again? Any way of 'dressing them up' in the engine bay? Your picks would be great!

The 10.8 lb Hawker gets my vote. I used it during the summer on my Talon and never had a problem with it, not to mention it was only $23 shipped!
