I am in need of a new battery, and was wondering if the aftermarket lightweight versions for sale are any good. do they last as long? Best brand? Would you buy it again? Any way of 'dressing them up' in the engine bay? Your picks would be great!
I got T1R and it weighs 14.5 lbs.

If you want to dress your engine as well, I think you shouldn't consider this because this battery doesn't look right.

Hey guys, I forgot about this thread. I got the battery so cheap from a guy I found on eBay. They were $23/ea. b/c I bought 5, but if I'd only gotten 1 it still would have only been $30 shipped. I've been trying very hard to track the guy down to get some more, but so far I've had zero luck.

Yup, thats the exact same 10.8 lb. Hawker Genesis battery that I had. No problems whatsoever with it even in my rattlebox Talon (poly motor-mounts and way too stiff GroundControl coilovers).

Good to know others have the Genesis without issue (i really thought i'd screwed the pooch on this one). Regarding the 'look' of it in the engine bay, i'm curious if there is a support that will bring the battery level with the other engine components. I also figured i'd 'clean up'/'bling the brace/terminals/wiring. Anyone have pics of their set-up with the Hawker or other 'height challenged' battery (hell, or any aftermarket battery-related components) please share!!
