Default Lightweight exhaust

(cut and pasted from here)

Top Secret Full Ti............................5lbs
Veilside Teardrop...........................5.3lbs
J's 60RS......................................9.5lbs
Amuse Dual Titan w/Res...............13.7lbs
Amuse Dual R1............................15lbs
Spugen Single Ti............................17.5lbs

With these exhausts in mind, and prefering the first 3 over the rest, which of these have a smooth deep tone to them and don't get real raspy in the top end. I have heard too many ricers that sound decent until they hit 3-4rpm where they get very metalic and raspy which I utterly despise on a street car. Volume isn't a huge deal to me, although with that said if two sound similar but one is significantly quieter in the lower rpm range, then that would be a plus.

Just trying to make the best decision on the first try so I don't get into the habit of switching exhausts every 6 months

Also for those of you in Del-Val let me know if you have one of these installed so I can have a listen.

Thanks.

Does it have a smooth tone to it, or is it raspy at high rpms?

I have the Veilside. Based on what you've said, you'll hate it.

I don't think any of those exhausts will sound raspy like a civic. THe S's beefier motor drowns out any chance of ricer can sound and most exhausts will sound great. If you add the test pipe don't expect it to be too quiet on most exhausts either. Go with one that you like the look on...

Have you looked at the JIC Magic DE Type 1 Ti ? I think it weighs 12 lbs.

I have the DE Type 1 ST. I am not especially fond of the drone below 6000 RPM so I have to keep reminding myself that it only weighs 17 lbs.

I didn't worry about weight because any exhaust especially single will save a great amount of it. I was more concerned about performance hence why I got the T1R 70mm. I think that is one of the absolute best exhausts that you can get for the S that is somewhat reasonable in price.
