Default little button

Does anyone know what the little black button does that is located just above your left knee cap in the drivers position just under the dash? I have security, but I assume everybody does.

I just went out to the garage to check, but I forgot the my babys in the shop right now. I don't ever recall seeing a black button there, but I don't have the security. It might be a valet switch or the button you use if you lose the transponder so you can reset the alarm and still drive it. Just my $.02

It's the "valet" switch. It basically turns your alarm off. It is there in case you ever want to use the valet key.

I just found this, and had no idea what it was. It wasn't part of the factory harness so I assumed the same. I'll have to go back and try it out - but I don't know what I can do with it without the valet key...

Its not in the manual, I just checked.

yeah, i have it too. Also heard about the 'valet' thing. But i dont have the valet key.

Does not do anything that i can find. I pushed it all the time. Under every circumstance.

It dosen not shut off the alarm, stop if from going off etc....

but its pluged into the wiring harness, so its not aftermarket.

I don't think it's a button, you're talking about a twisty knob thing right? I think it's part of a screw that helps keep the dash together -- I think, but I could be VERY wrong.
