I just bought a MY04 and the dealer talked me into getting LoJack. They are charging $800, however, the LoJack site says that it's only $700. Is $800 too much? Is this more than most of you paid? I searched on lojack and found a few hits -- looks like some people were paying about 6-700 dollars.

They rolled the $800 into my contract. The lojack system is being installed this week. If I find it cheaper elsewhere, is it too late to have my dealer remove this cost from the contract?

When I bought mine 2 weeks ago, they offered LoJack with lifetime waranty for $750, they said their usally price was $995 and LoJack was running a special (right... ).

 

I paid $595 last Nov for my '04 S2000. It is only installed by car dealers as far as I know. Maybe they sold you the lifetime warranty. Normally it is warranted for 2yrs. parts and labor except for the backup battery which has a 90day warranty. The lifetime warranty was offered to me for $99 rather than the usual $149.

Don't confuse that with the lifetime refund offer if the vehicle is not recovered.

After the first 2yrs they recommend that you have it inspected every 2yrs for about $69. They won't tell you where it is, allthough I found mine. They did a nice job with the installation.
