Long Road Trips
I just took the S2K to the beach yesterday - two hours each way. By the time I got home, I was pretty exhausted. Sure, a lot of that had to do with being in the hot sun all day, but I was also pretty tired of driving. That got me thinking... What's the longest road trip you've taken in your S2K?
I haven't taken it yet but flying out to Houston, picking it up from the father-in-law who doesn't want it any longer, and driving it back to LA. Estimated to be about 1660 miles which should take us 1 1/2 days to drive with a stop over either in NM or AZ.
12.5 hours from Mobile, AL to Marion, VA for some mountain roads. 12 hours to Kerrville, TX to do Mountain roads Texas style, 13 hours to Eureka Springs, ARK to do the Ozark Mountains. Just love driving the S2000 on mountain roads for some strange reason. Of course the short trip of only 8 hours to the Dragon in TN and NC. I must say I have met a lot of great people doing all those road trips. Just enjoy the car where ever you go man. Later BD
Just got back from Kelowna, BC.
4000km round trip through the mountains on two lane roads, 9+ hour days in the car during travel days including stops (fuel, swimming/cool down breaks and ferry crossings, etc).
Road trips are more about the journey and less about the destination. My girlfriend and I both had fun and we didn't get all that sore since we took frequent breaks.
Also, being my first extended road trip in the "S" make sure to bring sunscreen, learn from my mistake......

We've done several long mutli-state road trips to each coast (TX-NM-AZ-CA-NV-UT-AZ-NM-TX & TX-AK-TN-NC-TN-KY-TN-AK-TX) and up north (TX-NM-CO-WY-SD-WY-CO-NM-TX). Not sure which was the longest off the top of my head. Longest single driving day was 18 hours and each of those trips had a day like that.
Heck, just getting out of Texas is a long road trip.

I take a 6.5 hour trip almost every other month. If I take the highway with the soft top up doing 75+ I feel like crap from the tops vibrations. If I take slower back roads with the top down part of the time I'm fine. I got a hardtop now too so the highway is no problem, although still not as fun as the back roads. I would take the back roads all the time but sometimes the weather is bad or I'm driving at night or I want to get there faster.
1200 miles over three days, 600 of which on a single 14 hour drive.
Probably the best drive I've had in the car yet.
Other than a lot of water and sunscreen, I put a small pillow in the seat for some extra lower back support.
