I am thinking about getting a hard top for the winter but am concerned with the fact that the roof will be down for several months.
Will I damage the roof or the rear screen (I do have my Muz Mat!) leaving it down for such a long time? Does anyone have any experience or advice for using the hardtop through the winter?

Thanks
Anthony

I would say that you should definitly get one of the "rolls" to insert into the top while it is down. It will keep the rear window from getting creased/bent.

Remember, the towel works as well or better than the roll.

Cheers guys,
Anybody got any ideas about the roof itself, will I be putting major creases into it?

I had the hardtop on for about three months and just took it off. The rear window was protected by a bath mat inside and a towel outside. There were some large wrinkles in the soft top sides but they disappeared after a few days. I can't find any scratches, wrinkles or other marks i can contribute to the use of the hard top. There were some dirt stains on the soft top cloth below the rear window, probably there has been some leakage when washing the car, but they vanished with the first wash.

I just received my hardtop last month. Could you clarify what you mean by using "the towel" vs the roll, how to install it, and what its advantages over the roll are? I just ordered a window protector from hondaS2000accessories.com and will send it back upon your advice if it doesn't work as well as "the towel".

I am going to install my H/T next week. When the top is down, I use the original bmw Z3 towel for that purpose! It is a bit sad, but I think bmw has foreseen more cabrio products than honda! Anyway, that towel is designed for that exact purpose and when you touch or use the side that touches the plastic window, you will see what I mean...
