Look at the S2K talk on the Road & TRack Forum
WOW! I just read the entire thread and I nominate 2x6spd as our honorary spokesman emeritus. Well said, thought through, unbelievably didn't lose it as I was losing mine. All in all an interesting many sided discussion. Thanks for the link.
What I'm most impressed with is the care, thoroughness, and intelligence with which our members posted on this thread. We have a great car, and we seem to have a much better command of the English language than the other posters at the R&T board. Way to go guys! Some great reads about our car posted over there.
All the S2K boys did a great job of standing up for our car. Nice job!
Did you read the post from that jerk BMWE46, who was trying to give English lessons?

First of all, the sentence you've posted above is NOT a sentence.....Any 14 year old knows better than to start a sentence with the word "and".
"I have owned an S2000 for over a year. The car is a BLAST to drive in town or out."
So you don't own one anymore? What happened to it? "I have owned an S2000 for over a year" I guess you sold it huh? For someone who makes 100k it is just sad he doesn't know how to properly use "a" versus "an". Let me give you a little grammer lesson......it is not "an" S2000, it's a S2000. Why don't you try growing up and take more notes in grammer school.
------------------------------
These were just a few of his comments. Hilarious! The guy (I presume a pompous BMW driver) couldn't even spell the word "grammar"
I guess he is also 14 years old, because he knows you can't start a sentence with the word "And" (Really? I must remember to write to the publishers about that one, every time I come an instance in some literary work.) And as for "an S2000" being incorrect grammer (sic!), I wonder what special credentials his English teacher was endowed with? (Damn. I just noticed that I started that sentence off with "And". Naughty, naughty.)

Hey at the risk of starting an argument IY2KS2K you are correct in describing our car as an S2000 (using 'an' vs 'a' is dependent on the sound of the letter not whether it is a vowel or a consonant - in this case 'ess' begins with a vowel sound just like we talk about an F20C 'eff' engine).
Similarily with the letter 'u', which although a vowel is treated as consonant when it has a 'yoo' sound such as when used as follows: 'it is a useful piece of equipment'.
However, I totally disagree with you on beginning a sentence with 'and'. The word 'and' is a conjunction and should only be used to join two phrases (or clauses, or a clause and a phrase) within a sentence.

Yes, well done guys! Some people just don't understand. For the guy who said he had driven an S2K and wasn't impressed with its performance even in the twisties ... I wonder what in the hell he drives?!?!
