What is a TSB?

Technical Service Bulletins are technical
service repair guides issued by automobile
manufacturers to help repair shops diagnose
problems. Over 6000 TSBs are issued annually.
Service bulletins are distributed for each
vehicle and cover items such as redesigned
parts, updated repair procedures, solutions to
tough problems, and other items of interest for
the technician.

It is not usually necessary to know what all the
bulletins are for an automobile (there may be
hundreds and most are probably not applicable to
a particular car). However, if you are having a
particular problem with your car that seemingly
can't be repaired, it's worth checking to see if
there is has been bulletin issued concerning the
problem.
