You guys see where the screw is:



This is the shield inside our projectors. This is what gives that nice sharp colorful cut-off. All you have to do is unscrew this screw, add in a washer, screw the shield back on and you get what the pics above show.

i believe they use #8 washers

Yup, that's what I did. But now some are using the smaller washers as you can see in the pics which I think is better, this way you have more options.

If you flatten that piece you can get rid of the notch in the headlight pattern. That would put it half way between JDM and USDM.

If you get rid of the step, you lose light output. You'll also destroy your beam pattern and cut-off. Don't mess with it unless you can precisely replicate that cut-off shield.

You lost me here?? Both USDM and JDM have the step, just in different directions.
