but I wouldnt be driving in the snow unless I absolutely had to. Even then I would probably drive our Jeep since it has 4 wheel drive.

Im going to see what I can do.

My sister, when she turned 18 got some stocks my grandfather invested for us both. Im thinking I will get those stocks when I turn 18 as well. So her stocks had a value of about 25k, so maybe I should wait until I am 18?? If so, what should I get in the meantime?

To give you an idea of how much your insurance will be, i'm 21 and i pay $357.00 a month 9 months out of the year for the S2000. Thats $3200 a year and i have been with them since i was 16 with no accidents. If you live in a big city like DC be prepared to pay at least $400 a month for this car at your age, plus since your only putting $10,000 down i take it you will finance the rest. In the end your probably gonna have to pay at least $800 a month for this car in your situation. Good luck finding a job after school that can take care of those payments

It's buggin me... S2000s as first cars for some of these kids... Some parents worry me, they just have more money then sense. Not terribly intelligent I must say. Maybe after nearly losing one of their children will they open their eyes.

hang on sec! lets put all the money issues aside. lets say that even at 16, he can afford it, and its all paid for. that will be fine. I'd suggest a used one and a driving school as well, but most of all... you are 16 and you cannot have sex in this car! at least without anyone noticing of course.

I'm being very realistic here!

Well, even if you can afford the car, it'll still be really tough financially... I'd advise not to blow all your money on a car, and thus being constantly strapped for cash. I'd think that take a lot of the fun out of owning this car... personally, if I were still in high school, I sure as hell wouldn't wanna get myself into $20k+ worth of debt.

hmmm, I could get a used BMW Z3 for under 24k with about 30k miles. Would this be a better choice?

if you like convertables how about a miata or MR-2 spyder, both alot a cheaper than the S2000 and prob. wouldn't be bad as a first car, or even better yet look for a used 91-95 MR-2 turbo, i always wanted one of those back in high school

im 16, and thinking about new cars
i dont have as much money as you, and i have to pay for all of it
BUT if you were going to buy it right now, go for either a wrx or look into mitsubishi eclipses
if you can wait a year or 2
BUY A MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION Vll
those cars are sooooooooooo badass should be here in 2003
4 door 276hp turbocharged piece of amazing machinery
oh god i love those cars im making my mom get one
anyway, they should get you about 1/4 in 13 or under, and with a few grand way under 13 probably.
god iwant one

btw you could also get a 98 240sx and do a sr20det drop and s15 silvia conversion = drift machine and possibly one of the nicest looking cars

the car i am getting is a 91 mitsubishi eclipse gsx, about 3000 US, awd, leather, sunroof, and it will do 13s with about a grand. 0o0o i cant wait
