GET A MIATA. the cars are soo much alike, except for the speed of course. get use to a rwd sports car and a stick before you hit the "engine start" button on the S. trust me, with the money in the bank buy a miata (easily a 99-00 miata) for 10k. then with your job save up for the S. get a job at your local carwash or some shit and detail cars its pretty good money. you will get use to a very nice sports car. i dont think there would be any other way to go with out crashing your car within the first year.

YOU NEED EXPIERENCE WITH RWD (a sports car not a jeep) BEFORE YOU BUY AN INSANELY FAST CAR. yes i do think our car is insanely fast for under 50k..which it is.

"It's buggin me... S2000s as first cars for some of these kids... Some parents worry me, they just have more money then sense. Not terribly intelligent I must say. Maybe after nearly losing one of their children will they open their eyes. Cause sadly, that is most likely the ONLY way to make them see what's up. :

speakin of that, i know 1 person who is 18 (im 23) with a Rx-7 and he started with a miata and i run with him alot. he is cool as hell. but in his highschool there is another kid who had his parents buy him a rx-7 from some dude who ran the hell out of it and has 300rwhp. from what i remember this kid was tellin me he has had his license about 2 months now. and this kid has ran off the road 2 times ruined his rims the 2nd time cuz he went up a curb and threw some grass into some gravel (thank god there was gravel) but im just not for anyone having a powerful car who has not had expierience with rwd sports car.

haha search button has caused me to revive this thread...muahahaha...anywho...im currently looking to purchase an S and will probably trade in an EP for it...im looking at an 05 S for 17ish or a CR for 30ish...now let me make it clear im asking if the CR justifies the 13-15k price difference or if i should just get the base 05...i am 20 with i would say great credit but not much history i would say about 2 years and maybe some change and am wondering if i should save up more and pick up a CR later or drop some loot right now for the 05 base. Ijust got a new job that will allow me to make a 400ish payment. I know you all must get tired of these types of "spoon feed me" questions but i used to own an NA miata with a short nose crank and did not know about it until after i purchased and then was later upset that i didnt wait to research more and save for a later year...i just want the input of those whom already own this beast...thank you all ahead of time...
