craigslist.org may be your friend. expect high miles, rough condition, salvage title. But, if you're handy it may be just what you're looking for.

Not sure what your source of income is, but although I know most people on here generally suggest not financing, with such a limited budget I doubt you'll find much of anything that will stay on all 4 wheels for longer than a few months. I'd find a used car dealer nearby with an S2000 using the various used car finding websites who also finance, and perhaps but 6.5k down and save 1k for repairs that may need to be made (do your research and make sure the interest rate on the financing isn't bad ~4, even 5 but nothing like 6% or above), most will even work with you if you have bad credit. If you don't have a stable source of income then you should probably try to do what darcyw said, but financing is a better option for a lot of people who may not have the amount in the bank to buy out a car worth $15k. I have around $8k saved right now and will probably finance a decent mileage AP2. But don't try to finance a car worth over $20k unless you're intending to put more than just 6k down because the interest can build up the higher the price of the car, but for 18k you can definitely find good AP1s and AP2s with <60k miles. 6.5k down on one of those should do pretty good and the payments shouldn't be too intimidating, but make sure you always leave something for parts, because while the S2000 is extremely reliable it's not to be said that a problem will never happen. Sorry I kind of went on a tangent, but gl man.

ADDITION: A lot of the people on here are more informed than me so I'd probably look for some cars with crazy high miles like they say and if that doesn't work then try to finance, but in my opinion I think financing is the better option to get you a better condition car.

Look for something with crazy high miles, but still in respectable condition. These cars can go the distance if not neglected.

I bought my car for $7300.

I've since spent more than that making it into the car I wanted it to be in the first place.

I would do it all over again, but I got a great deal on a clean title car that had never been crashed & is generally solid mechanically *knocks on table*

There are approximately four (4) different generations of the S2000. Which one are you writing about? Red s2k tells us nothing. Receipts? Who keeps receipts? But anyone serious about selling would fix the windshield first, it's an insurance claim item.

No relation to seller but i think represents about what you would expect for $7500.

That's in very good shape for the price.
