Default Losing Weight

I think that the best mod for me may be to lose weight... both with me and my S. I have already lost 14 lbs and want the S to lose some weight too. This way, I won't have to worry about warranty problems etc.

So how much weight can the S lose without changing the outside or interior appearance to the car? And what parts are you talking about. Also, I want to keep my amp.

My preferences:

Quick & easy, lose the spare and associated jack/tools. Other pretty big opportunities are exhaust and header, while not much difference in hp, you can save significant weight there. Also consider lightweight wheels (Volk ce28n 17's, for example). Can't think of too much further without de-contenting the car, which you sound like you don't want to do.

Man, I have also lost 15# within 2 months. I have been running (I hate running) every other day. Started with 1 mile and now I'm up to 3miles. Eat less portion and works wonder.

Stay away from soda (sugar) and junk food.

Actually, sugar's not so bad, and it's not in soda. Soda (and fat free yogurt, Catsup, BBQ, and just about everything else) contains High Fructose Corn Syrup. This is pure EVIL!!! See Men's Health from 2 months back. Basically, HFCS is not a Glucose-based sweetener (like suger), and consuming it does not trigger insulin production. Insulin, in turn, triggers leptin production, which regulates what gets burned, and helps to control appetite.

So... You drink 6 sodas, and your body absolutely does not acknowledge that those calories even came in, nor do any of them get burned. They go right to your belt line. It's much better to eat products that use sugar, 'cause at least some of it gets burned, and your body acknowledges those calories, and you feel full (eventually).

MH tip, if it contains HFCS as the first or second ingredient on the label, don't eat it if there are more than 8grams of sugars per serving.

If it contains real sugar, have at it, in moderation. Should be good for 8 or 10 lbs over 2 to 3 months. Sorry to ramble, but this is the best health tip I've had in years. Drink Diet soda 'til your heart's content; and read labels.

I've lost 35lbs since jan, but have been holding steady at 200 since april. Mostly with exercise (walking at 3.5mph and 5 degrees of incline for 45 minutes 3 times/week, and weights after that).

thanks jvils! I learn something everyday.

That makes a lot of sense now to why I lost 10lbs in two weeks after I stopped drinking soda.

But back to losing weight on the car... I've always taken out my spare and tools and stored it in the garage. I know it's not much, but every little bit helps and besides I've always had AAA for free towing. Last thing I ever want to do is try to change a flat with that wimpy factory scissor-jack.

I 2nd on the Atkins diet. Reduce the carbohydrate intake. Increase on the proteins. Knock off soda and fruit juices. (The ones with that high fructose corn syrup in them). Drink plenty of water all day. Also avoid refined breads, crackers, and stuff that's been processed with hydrogenate oils. (the body can't break down the molecular chains). By the way, soy isn't all that the food industry is making it out to be. It's nasty stuff that shouldn't be consumed. Check it out!
