For the love of God, please check the FAQ's before asking a question
at this very moment in time there are two threads in front page of "talk" with the subject of "fujitsubo exhausts"
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=193162
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=193341
and two more hugely original exhaust topics
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=193307
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=192631
they were all started within a day or two of each other
there are two threads in the front page of "talk" with the subject of "my top won't go down all the way"
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=193284
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=193210
all this noise and redundancy just drives the unique/interesting/valuable threads off the front page and into obscurity.
it doesn't even require a search... just scan down the front page. if you're thinking about a color, an exhaust, your car is "tail happy", want an auto dimming mirror, want to know the BEST CAI, want to know what the MY05's specs are, or just need some advice on how to use the bathroom, just look down the page FIRST. it'll be there already.

There's two sides to this coin. Here's one side:
There are just so many questions that can be asked about anything. If noone asks for fear of being ridiculed, then the traffic on this forum would diminish to near zero and would soon die. It would become a haven for "Off Topic" (and we already know how the forum admins feel about this, don't we?) and the S2000 side of things would be but a microbe. I'm sure the forum admins wouldn't like that one bit.
I have answered hundreds of duplicate questions dozens of times. Usually, I just answer them again and again and again. Every now and then, I will tell someone to try a search but I attempt to do it politely and word it such that it is not "stand offish". I've already expressed my opinion on this before:

Did Shelley, Eric and Rylan get this thing going to generate a busy site, to generate "traffic"? Do you think they want to see that traffic go down? "Traffic" is the only initial yardstick by which sponsors and would-be users can determine if this site is a "popular" one to keep putting money into and to keep participating in.
Why don't we ask the "big three" ........................... Hey Shel, Eric, Rylan, would you like me to shut up and never answer another question again just because it's been asked before? How about for all the hundreds and hundreds of PMs I get with some question or another, I just ignore them all? Would you like me to simply tell all who ask a question to "GO DO A SEARCH!" ???????? Come on guys, whether you like it or not, this forum has become BUSINESS. You want REPEAT business, be careful how you run it.
The worst case scenario would be to lock this whole forum down and turn it into a "library". I don't suppose the sponsors will like that either, will they? Telling people to simply "go do a search" is unfriendly and uninviting. Is this what the forum admins want? You wanna clean things up? OK, but let's not be impolite about it and let's not do anything to discourage people from wanting to participate here (and one of the main ways people "participate" is to "ASK QUESTIONS"!) You want all the traffic to go through the library? Then little else will happen. Be careful what you ask for because when you get it and noone posts anymore, we may as well all pack our cyberbags and stay home. There won't be nothin' here but us chickens.
Oh, here is that exhaust clip link:

I do agree that it's frustrating and time consumming for everybody to see the same questions asked over and over and so I do feel that poeople should do a search more often.
What irritates me as much, if not more, is OWNERS who ask a question that they could get very simply by reading the F..... OWNERS MANUAL.

Tedow, as much as I agree that the "what exhaust questions" do get a little irritating......I have noticed one thing.....
Ive been lurking forums for many years now....Acura TL, CL, e46....etc....
Ive noticed that once the moderators ask people to search, faq, etc......the forum dies. The thread count plummets and people lose interest. Lets face it....any question anyone can come up with regarding the S2000 have already been answered.
Just my .02

I joined this forum a year and a half ago and thought it was freat but I've noticed that I haven't been veiwing it much anymore because I see the same topics discussed over and over again.
I understand that maybe new owners have the same questions I had in the begining but in my begining I did a search and looked to see if the topic had been discussed on the last few pages before I asked any questions.
Nowdays I can look at a page and sometimes see the same topic 2-3 times on a single page.
Maybe there's only so much you can talk about one car....

Hey andrewewing...not everyone gets the owners manual with their car, so that's kinda hard. Yes it is prefered that before posting an question thread, they should check out hte FAQ. THere are alot of useful threads that can be easily found in there. That's why time was spent searching for them since they were so commonly asked.
Another thing...I am also guilty of not doing a search. The search engines wont search for less then 3 letter words number on 1....secondly, if youre in a hurry....its sometimes easier asking, run out and try to conquer the problem and rnu back in to check if someone's replied. It's extremely time consuming (expecially on dial-up) for us to wade through the 100's of results for a search on tach sensor.
Thanks Viper for the link of the exhausts too
