Default Lower Back Pain

Hi folks,

Anyone else out there feeling some pain in the lower back from driving the S2000? My car is new, and I've been spending some serious time in it lately , but the darn back is a bit tweaked.

Maybe it's because I'm a little bit tense, but I do find the seat so comfortable and supportive... It's probably just me, but I thought I'd ask. Couldn't find any thread in a search where folks might've talked about this already...

I've tried a few different seat positions. My '88 Prelude used to have a pump-up lower back support "pillow", but the S2000's seat is very basic.

Thoughts?

I have a pretty weak (bad) lower back, and I've found the S2000's seats to be one of the best places for it. Unless you're putting your seat in a very odd position, I'd presume that it's you and not the seat.

I've experienced that in other cars, especially my mom's accord. But the S2000 has been very good to my back.

There was a thread a few weeks ago, by JeffS2k I think, about this same topic. I don't know where it is though. I have my seat all the way back and tilted back and I haven't felt anything. And I have a weak back. As mentioned in that thread, the only thing that hurts me is the seat belt over my shoulder.

I think I'm just gonna try a small, thin pillow at the lower area. I think it's just tension (i.e., MY tension) and I need to seriously chill!

Best wishes

I dont think these seats are that supportive, but they are more supportive than a certain Daewoo rental car.

one suggestion - do you have your wallet in your back pocket by chance? remove it! it will cause your hips not to sit awkwardly in the seat and can reduce back pain.

A small folded-up towel placed at the lower back takes care of it for me. A must for longer trips!

I learned to remove my wallet after I found that my fingertips would start to go numb after about an hour of driving. Must have something to do with the blood flow....

Oh yes, I forgot about that. I do not ever have my wallet in my pockets when driving the S2000. That is what I use the front compartment between the seats for. Mostly cause of my butt size but....
