I have owned my S2000 for about a year now and think its about time to buy some new rims. Im considering some OZ Gemini 17" and just wondered if anyone outhere has their S2K on 17's and hasnt lowered it. I reallly dont want to lower if possible (various reasons but steep company car park the main one) Anyone have any pics / thoughts on not lowering? Does it look ok or on stilts? THanks

 

I think that most will agree that lowering's main benefit is just a more agressive appearance with some saying an increase in performance. I know I don't regret lowering mine. Any kind of changes I will have in driveablility is worth it considering how the car looks compared to stock ride height. If you are going to aftermarket wheels, your car will probably look like a four wheeler without some kind of drop.

yes thats what I want to avoid as really dont want it to look like a 4x4. can you get away with just lowering springs for cosmetic purposes?

 

Personally I like the looks of a lowered car, however I do not by any means think that it looks bad at stock height with after market rims.

 

I would advise bumpsteer when lowering if you want to keep the performance

Umm... AP2 comes stock with 17" wheels. Wheel diameter isn't the only thing that determines ride height when changing to different wheels.

 

I say lower it at least a little bit to clean up the look and dont go too low that you ruin the performance

 

Tein S. Techs..... Just low enough to see the difference, not so low that you are scraping everywhere. Rides and handles good as stock, too.
