Thumbs up is lowered better? no spoiler? hardtop?

I just had a random question. Im sorry in advance if these questions have already been answered in other threads...

I was wondering

1). how much of a change approx will the cars acceleration, speed and performance be, relative to wind resistance, if you lower your car a significant amount?

2)How much approx does having a spoiler or not having a spoiler effect the speed, acceleration and performance?

3) How much approx does having a hardtop or not having a hardtop effect the speed, acceleration and performance? (not including the weight the hardtop vs soft top + motor)

...Are these effects noticeable or worthwhile in the s2000?

Thanks

Haris

dont bother trying to make this a straightline racer, its not made for that. as for the rest of the stuff, if you were seeing 175+ for extended periods of time i'm guessing you would need to worry about it, but getting to a hundred in a straight line i dont think it will do anything. try using the search function also

For a spoiler, you wont be going fast enough 80% of the time to even feel a difference. Most people just put it on for looks. Lowering it wont make it get any more aerodynamic either unless you're going 100+ mph. Lowering just decreases the amount of body roll/increase handling agility depending on what kind of set up you get.

I'm not a huge fan of wings, but I thought spoilers/wings DO play a huge role in planting the rear to the ground on high speeds.(I'm thinking 80+mph)

why buy a convertible if you wanted to put a hardtop on ?

I made that mistake 25 years ago, dammed top stayed for almost 2 years and rarely came off the car.

I've been thinking about getting a hardtop only because my top continues to form new holes in it, and I'm tired of the hassle of getting them fixed. I don't know if getting new fabric would help or what. I'm thinking it's probably something wrong with the frame. Anyone else have this problem?

I met a guy down at Roebling that was datalogging his sessions. He ran with both top up and top down. Top up consistently yielded higher front stretch speeds; 3-4 mph greater before braking IIRC. At least we could see that the aero was better with top up, but we all knew that one.

... when i took my spoiler off the sti, most of the time i didnt see a differance but when i got on the highway and opened it up after you, if you know your own car you notice a big differance..

lowered better?
the s2000 suspension is well matched as oem. lower it 1" but you will see the components are not able to do as good a job, you will not be able to re align with the same accuracy. new after market stuff is expensive.

it takes considerable gains to over come a cars final speed not just emptying the wiper fluid. and why bother? its all about the driver vs the corners.
