Well I took Greg's idea and lowered my seat. Nice! Dropped my head (6'1")below the roll bar. Removing some of the padding from the seat pan gave up at least another inch. Now my thigh has some space from the steering wheel--making heal-toe'ing easier.
I took a some photos of the whole process. If any one is interested I will post them. It will make it a little easier... But it is a pretty simple job
I am thinking about removing some padding from the insert that is center of the seat back. Any one been there yet??

Thanks a lot for the pictures! I do want to lower the seat about an inch, but still retain the same angle of the lower seat; also keep all the padding. I guess I could first hammer in the back, see how far it goes, and then do the holes in the front. I wonder if I need to relocate the stock alarm system.
Airsport,
I'm finally glad to see someone take my directions and try them out! I see that you cut your thumb on the seat pan. I'm sorry, but I had to laugh.......I did the very same thing!!! Thanks for taking the photo's, because I didn't think about photo's until I had already done the work. I wasn't about to take it all apart again. Ha! Ha!
I really like this technique, because it doesn't lower the seat back, but only the seat bottom.
I would encourage everyone who needs for headroom to try this out. It's actually kind of fun!
Have a good week!

Thanks a lot for the instruction and the pictures. One question to either Greg or Scott: with the seat lowered only on the driver side, does it look weird? The hole in the headrest must not line up with the hole in the roll bar. How does that look?
JL The seat back/height is not affected by this mod. It connects to the mounting bracket independatly of the seat bottom.
Also Sdosmil, of all the things that I did to the seat the most difficult to correct would be hammering the seat pan. YOU can replace the foam or move the bolts back in the old holes with little agro.
