This looks like it has a lot of potential. The engine is further back than a 2jz would be, and from what I understand (atleast from reading Rx-7 swap threads and junk) the engine itself is not overly heavy. No need to mess with the frame either it seems. Weight distribution might end up pretty decent. In addition, it should be relatively cheap - the guy with the Civette got an enitre corvette drivetrain for $800 - compared to anything else that could make this kind of power.

It was linked to HT from LS1 tech not but a few days ago. Been waiting for it to show up here, there wasn't really much discussion going on about it.

Edit: This was posted by the owner just 7 days ago. Someone mentioned another ls1 S2k project that kind of died off, perhaps that is the one you are thinking of? I think this one is new. I just combed over the search results again and while I have heard such thing mentioned before, I've never seen anyone this far along.
