I do not see how this is "not an s2000". I don't even understand the reasoning behind that kind of statement.

1. Awesome horsepower
2. Awesome torque
3. Awesome sound
4. Awesome looks

If anything, it's more S2000 than S2000.

If it's just because he changed something, then where's the line? Does a supercharger make it not an S2000? Turbo? Stroker kit? Body kit? Aftermarket stereo? Aftermarket billet antenna?

No, it's definitely an S2000.
i think this is a major topic among many swap rockets.

the things that are missing from your list of what makes an s2000 an s2000 are more subtle.

the swapper had to modify the steering rack to accommodate the engine. this changes the steering feel (and the overall steering angles achievable as the swapper already admitted). steering feel is something that defines a car. along with brake pedal feel and transmission (shifter) feel.

other things that define a car are the power envelope that the chassis was designed to handle. some may argue that the s2000's handling characteristics under such a power load actually decrease it's native abilities and does not augment them. this view could be seen as true, at least to some.

just offering a different perspective. i love swaps, i want to hear the cammed start up video.

I love it, this guy did a great job at this. and all i have to say is good for you man. props GM v8 engines are a well engineered engine. Just wait for hondas turn to come out with a v8 production engine. That will be the day that all of us start tearing down our f20/22 for that engine.

Nope. It's an S7000.

High strung 2 (or 2.2-ish) four-cylinder engine.

It's part of the name S2000...

Try telling that to the tag office. They don't care about the naming conventions or the spirit or the soul of the car as you see it.

VIN decode says S2000, car's an S2000 no matter what's under the hood.

Really, I don't see where bystanders get to tell a car owner what his car can be called based on what they think about mods added to it.

If that were the case, then I declare that "hellaflush" means the car's no longer an S2000 and has to be called a Civic.
