Default Luggage Rack w/factory spoiler

Hi All,

I've done google searches and looked through the various venders selling trunk racks but none that work with the spoiler.

I'm looking for a removable luggage rack that will work with the factory spoiler. I know I saw one over a year ago, but can't find it now, never fails.

Hope someone out there can help,

TIA

Can't remember where I got this from but ........ (and I quote)

" Same rack fits the Audi TT and BMW Z3 so if you can find a Fapa dealer somewhere they should have it for you. The "Unispider A" fits perfectly over the OEM spoiler. It does clamp onto the trunk lid, but cut up some chamois and put it underneath the clamps to prevent scratches.

This style might work, if it was reversed

Of course it might just be easier to measure the space available on the trunk lid and then see what the various footprints are of the racks that are available by diferent vendors for different cars. I know in 1974 I purchaced a rear deck rack for my 1973 Mercury Capri that was made for a Datsun B210 ....

and later in 1974 a buddy purchased a rack for a Toyota Celica for his Capri ....

Of course .. it might be easier to install a hitch and then one of those receiver trays and you could probably carry a lot more stuff ...... or make one of these ...

Whateer you find Keep me posted .... I'm interested in something to expand my cargo/luggage space .... I too have a factory spoiler

I checked out the Unispider 1A201 on various British sites. Can't seem to find a viable description but the picks look like you have some positioning leeway, thanks CitadeBlue for the info.

There's less than 16" from the fron edge of the trunk lid to the front edge of the spoiler. Not much room to play with!

Wish I had access to some pipe bending and tig/mig welding equipment- I'd make my own ... Seems we need something that is a quick disconnect, stands about 4 or 5 inches up and a rail system than would sit over the trunk (and spoiler) ..... Maybe I need to make a prototype of some sort out of cardboard and take it to someone at the local high school shop class - maybe something in aluminum...
