My MAINT REQD light is flashing for a few seconds when I start the engine. Is this normal? Oil was down to the L mark so I added some and this made no difference.

I have not looked in the manual as of yet and I just have clocked 6000 miles. Any of you daily drivers have any input?

Thanks.

This is how the car lets you know service will be required soon.

The manual told me so.

I believe the light will remain on at 7500 miles.

Slightly annoying but a good prompt to get us to schedule service.

Do a search. It's easy to reset. Hold down the reset button. Turn the ignition to on. Wait till the light goes off. It takes about ten seconds. Release the reset button. I usually turn the ignition off then back on just to be sure I got it right. It will come on again at the same interval.
