Default Maintance costs

Ok guys just got a new CR was just woundering what the cost is to maintain one of these cars. How much does the dealer charge for a oilchange or for new tires little things like that. I owned a evo VIII and that thing cost me alot to maintain due to turbo and AWD. But for some reason i love the S2k so much more it seems faster than the evo did when it was stock

Tires are the most expensive and go away the fastest depending on how you drive. But there are some really decent alternatives to the OEM tires that will be cheaper. Dunlop Star Spec for example.

I don't think I had any maintenance other than oil and tires for the first 3 years I owned the car. Oh...well, pads and rotors, but then I was running very aggressive pads for autox.

Here's OEM:

Dunlops are about $133 for front sizes and $167 for rear.

I'll understand if you were just hitting letters with fingers due to being so tired, but what are you referring to that would void your warranty if done yourself?

Certainly not oil changes or tire changes.

There's nothing complex about the engine placement, a guy on the corner does my oil for $8... i wouldn't go near a dealership for an oil change, anyone can do it. I'd do it myself if I had a proper driveway. That and the air filter are the only things to keep constant check on, I was pleasantly surprised that it doesn't even have a traditional fuel filter, one less thing to replace.

It's a basic engine like any other car, keep your eye on the belts and hoses, check for even thread wear etc., just the usual.

If you don't race the car, I would just get any good tire with good wet traction, this is my third performance car and I've never gone with any fancy tire on any of them, I won't spend over $400 for a set of tires. They have always lasted me at least 30k miles and given me no problems..... if you race/track, I'm no expert on that, but for a daily driver, you don't need a set of $900 tires that will wear out in 12k miles.

Good tires usually run around 120 to 150 a piece. Plus mount, balance, etc...

Change your own oil, it wont void the factory warranty. If in doubt, keep all the records and receipts and you'll be fine. Oil and filter should only be around $30 or so.

Maintenance... we don't need no stinkin' maintenance!

Alright, change the oil every 5k yourself for <$20. Replace tires as needed (don't drive like an a'hole and they last longer).

It's a Honda, until you get ot higher mileage, maintenance is simple.
