Maintance costs

Tires are the most expensive and go away the fastest depending on how you drive. But there are some really decent alternatives to the OEM tires that will be cheaper. Dunlop Star Spec for example.
I don't think I had any maintenance other than oil and tires for the first 3 years I owned the car. Oh...well, pads and rotors, but then I was running very aggressive pads for autox.

Take a look at the owner manual. You'll see there's nothing big for quite some time. And things rarely break. Keep an eye on the wearable parts (tires, rotors, pads, clutch) and basic fluids (oil, tranny, diff) and you'll be fine.
In 6.5 years and 29k miles, my S2k has cost a whopping $450 for all basic maintenance - all oil/tranny/diff fluid changes, oil/cabin/air filters, wiper blades, valve adjustment, brake/clutch flush, battery replacement etc. Sure, you'll spend more than that if you take it to a shop, but these are all things you can do in your own driveway if you're mechanicallyinclined or have a buddy to help.
Tires, on the other hand, will add up. I've been through 2 sets of front tires and 4 sets of rear tires, total cost around $2k. Tires cost almost as much as gas on a per mile basis.
I've had 3 repairs ever. One was a rear axle pop (TSB), a 5 minutes fix. One was a bad window regulator, replaced. The other was a torn top replacement after a misfold. No serious mechanical issues (knock on wood), and nothing that ever prevented the car from starting, or going from point a to b.
Overall, I've found this a very inexpensive car to own/maintain, especially considering the fun factor.

Tires are where most of my money goes. Oil is something like $50 at honda, but mine is free. I get ~10k miles out of a set of rears, ~15-20k is typical for fronts. Pretty good street tires on stock wheels run somewhere around $350-500/pair mounted and balanced.
Clutch is usually one of the more expensive things--$1000 if a shop does it for you. How soon that happens is up to you.
Brake pads are another... but up to 100k, it's rare to hear of anything but the common wear parts that need to be replaced unless it's due to abuse.
So what's that average to, roughly a grand a year? That seems about right.

Oh ok guys thanks i came from a evo than went to the fit for about 7 months. With the evo it cost alot to maintain with the AWD and turbo. Oh and the tires were expensive. well im still tired i have been in the field geting my students trained. I was just making sure there was nothing i missed in the manual but looks like not so thanks
sign up online to receive email discounts from ur local dealer, regular oil changes at my local dealer run near 60, 19pt inspection, all fluids filled(top off), 31.95 with coupon.
took it to the dealer a few times, but have been doing fluid changes myself thanks to s2ki DYI.
i think maintenance on this car is relatively inexpensive considering the performance you can expect. reliability is incredible considering how hard the car can be pushed imo.

Over 4 years of ownership: With 33k miles on the odometer:
4 new tires/ 1/2 years ago- RE01R - $750 tax, mounting and balanced
Oil changed every 4k miles using mobile1 synthetic plus oem filter - $38
Cabin air filter/1 year ago- $22
Brake/clutch fluid bleed/4 months ago - $11 with rubber hoses to do the job
Transmission fluid flushed once/4 months ago - $17 with washers using Honda MTF
Differential fluid flushed/4 months ago - $35 with washers using Royal Purple
That about most of the maintenance you'll need to do keep the car going top notch shape for 100k miles.
