Default MAJOR PROBLEM - 6th Gear Gone!

I was driving yesterday and went to shift into 6th and couldnt get the shifter into 6th gear. I was like WTF? I put into neutral tried again...no luck. Went into fifth then finally got it into 6th but it felt real notchy (very notchy actually).

Today I am driving home and the same thing...except I cant get into 6th at all. I tried downshifting then up...neutral etc. Got home and parked then went through all the gears again with no luck. Now I LOST 5th gear as well. What the hell is going on??? Any help would be appreciated.

Big thread on it, use search. Your 6th gear might be gone because I think the theory was if you kept grinding gears even barely or something then its gone. Def lot more detailed in the other posts. Also do you ever skip shifts from 1st to 3rd of 3rd to 6th?

I never skip shifts but of course I have the dread first to second gear grind occassionally. Happend twice today as a matter of fact. I used the search and came up with tons of irrelevant stuff. Please help. Is this covered under warranty? Its a lease BTW

I found one post here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=200766&hl=

Sounds like I have the same problem. According to that post "the synchromesh seems to have gone on the car". This is supposedly covered under Honda warranty. Hopefully I will be lucky enough to get a new gearbox instead of having a rebuild done.

Do you rest your hand on the shifter when driving by any chance?

I had this happen around 4 years ago when my S2k was 1 year old. It was at its worst when I used to go to the track and the box became hot. Finally after returning from a track day it was impossible to select 6th and I realised I had welded the synchro ring to the shaft. Honda confirmed this and replaced the synchros without question, but I doubt very much if you will get a new gearbox out of them.

As long as it gets fixed without charge I cant complain. I do not rest my hand on the stick shift while driving. Hopefully I can get my appointment bumped up from next saturday to some time this week. I have a very good relationship with the service manager and he has taken care of me in the past.
