Except, of course, for that absurd side-to-side pattern on Mercedes-Benzes.

All my cars I have bought were all stick shifts, driven them all in Frisco (only time I actually contemplated getting an auto), and still love driving stick, very rewarding. The new DSG trannies are predominantly offered on touring type sportscars or very ritzy type of cars. For cars specifically designed for and catered to car enthusiasts with no other compromise to driving experience for things like comfort, they'll always have a manual. Note the cars: s2000, miata, corvette, M3, Porsche 911, etc etc.
Call it denial, but I know that manuals will be offered on most cars that I actually care about and can feasibly purchase.
Btw, DSG is a superior technology just like traction control, ABS, etc, and it's only going to get better, when it comes to track times, these technologies is the way to go, but everyone can agree, top down around a mountain road, is there any question what you'd choose?
