Default Many concerns

I have been interested in the s2000 since it came out. I have not been able to purchase one cause I am still a student but very soon that will end. I have been in this forum for about 2 weeks and it has raised some concerns in me.

First are all the problems. I am not sure relative to other cars cause I have not visited other forums but it seems
like there are many problems with the s2000.

From tranny to clutch, to windows not coming upm, etc...
Then there is this problem about many people loosing control. What is 8/10's or 9/10's.
I have seen it on many posts and can't relate. is it rpm?

What about not getting the same options in the U.S. as in Japan, exp navi system.
They should let us make the choice if we want it or not, regardless of the quality of the
software for the U.S.

just some concerns, thanks for all

don't worry, most the problems had been fix on TSBs and 2002.

the lost control thing....well....it may require a llittle bit more skill than average cars...but you will be fine as long as you drive safe to learn the character of handling first.

but I also think is not fair that we don't get the same thing as Japan. (Monte Carlo Blue.... )

Consumer Reports rates this car as a Best Buy. They also rate my Odyssey a Best Buy as well.

I have a noisey clutch and my driver's window "auto-down" feature doesn't work, but one of these days, I will take it in for free repair and get these very minor problems fixed.

Every day after driving it to work and back, even in the snow and ice, I still get out with one of these plastered on my face:

Get one and you will enjoy it,
Bob

I still don't know what 8/10's and 9/10's are.
I allready said that I have test driven the s2000 and others
like the tt, and I know I want an S2000. I just wanted to
know what other peoples opinions were.

thanks for all the input.

I believe when people use 8/10 or 9/10, they are referring to 80% and 90% of its roadholding capability.

For example, many cars give you hints when you are approaching 80%-90% traction through a corner. With the S2k, there's not much warning before you hit 100% and break your tires completely loose.

The car is awesome...period end of sentence....bone stock!

This board has a few classes of members:

1) Serious car freaks such as myself
2) Folks who use the board to keep up to date on performance and issues
3) People coming here on their 3rd or 4th post with a major problem (THESE ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE YOU FREAKED OUT....A MINORITY CLASS)

Note: you are here early so you will know more then most.....

4) Ah lest we forget the post whores.....several. They come here and rack up ther post count with comments like "Oh ReallY"...."Use the search function"...etc......and yes we know who you are .

Remember it's a Honda.

The S2000 has issues -- so what -- it comes with a warranty.
