So, I have been looking for an s2000 for a while and I may have found one months before I plan on buying.

Its a white, 2001 with the red/black interior, 53k miles, 2nd owner. I test drove and inspected it today. Tires are pretty new, rotors look good, oil was almost clear, clutch, tranny and engine all felt pretty good. There is a small scrape on the rear bumper, other wise the paint is near perfect, no dings or dents. They seller is an older gentlemen that is getting rid of it because it is uncomfortable for him to drive now. He also said it has been in storage for the past 4 months in his garage.

The best part is that he only wants 9700 for it. I think I may pull the trigger on this one... What do you guys think?

All right! I think I just need to try the competition (you know 350z, boxter, rx8...AP2) just to make sure. It has the color scheme I want too...

I should also mention that it does have new carpet as well. The plastic rear window is also in great shape, no fading and only a little wrinkled. Top is in excellent condition too. He also kept maintenance records. I am having a hard time talking myself out of this and you guys aren't helping

 

That's cause it's an insane price really. Pretty low mileage, good color combo, good records. Something like that should be going for about 12k or so.

You cant find an s2000 for that price and if you do it'll have most of the following:
1. 100k+ miles
2. No maintenace records
3. Modded and return to stock
4. Poor top

 

That's a steal. I'd jump on that ASAP!!! Don't even bother with a 350Z or AP2, because that AP1 is a ****** incredible deal. DO IT!!! Where are you located BTW?

Also, i think tomorrow, I should go out and drive a newer AP2, just so I know what a new one feels like.

I was saving up to buy a newer one for my b-day next year. I have the funds to get this one now though, it just feels like I am jumping in too soon. That is not a bad thing though.
