exclusivity? regardless of who owns the car or not, they produce the numbers they produce. it's not gonna be anymore rare by having second hand owners. they don't magically come up with used s2000's.
good point

Skunk2 exhaust 10whp gain, 5zigen header 5whp gain. There baseline was only 187. Final number with AEM tuning 207. Magazines are all BS. Dont go by it.
ha... skunk2 exhaust and 5zigen header - waste of time. You would think they'd try using parts that actually make power.

What type of dyno was it?

i should send this in.

KN drop in filter/custom 70mm exhaust/vfac2 tune.

my baseline was 197/134 now im at 227/147 for only $1350. s2k's dont respond to bolt ons my ass. i actually kinda like that the mags make s2k look week, makes bolt on RSXS all the more fun.

Nice numbers. I think the S2K responds just as well as many other NA 4 bangers, but people can keep thinking their weak. That's fine with me cause I know otherwise.

Wow a lot of haters...The car they used was mine. It was dyno'd at skunk2's facility. They use a superflow dyno (not sure on how high they read compared to dynapacks or dynojets). As always with dyno threads don't use the baseline and final numbers as comparisons with other dyno numbers. There are too many variables when it comes to this. The dyno used was very consistent in back to back dyno's. Each part was picked by the magazine and they all made power. I don't see what the problem is here?

Keep in mind that the stock cat was used and the stock filter (k&n drop in) is holding back power also. We might be doing further testing on other products like cams, etc...but with the type of response with this thread it might just be a waste of time.

Skunk 2 hasnt made much of a name for itself in the S2000 world though. The AEM EMS nice mod but the rest of the parts.

Nah, it's not a waste of time as long as the tests are done the right way. From the way you were describing the rational behind picking these numbers (in another thread), your reasoning was initially flawed, and on top of that you dyno'd a 10whp gain on just a Skunk2 exhaust? That seems crazy to people who have put exhausts on cars like this, with the stock cat in place the only way to make that kind of power on an S2000 is to put a 70mm single catback, which the Skunk2 exhaust most certainly is not. Plus the fact (which you did not enlighten us to earlier) that you dyno'd the whole thing on Skunk2's dyno makes it seem unbelievable.

Hes probably talking about the people who are going to buy the car and rice it completely out or drive like idots and give us a bad name... but then again more will be totaled also leaving fewer and fewer. Anyway they made the comment that the dyno would yield lower hp numbers.
correct.

Why is it that almost everyone else that dyno's a 70mm, either dual or single exhaust has claimed 10+whp? lol. I have nothing to gain from the test besides free parts. Just because something sounds too good to be true doesn't make it unbelievable...

The reason behind doing the tests at skunk2 is because of their facility. It is big enough for installs and dyno tuning and they were kind enough to do it for free. So to hear someone bad mouth them is an insult to me, because they were so nice to me. The car was dyno'd back to back to back until a consistent number was achieved at all four stages (baseline, exhaust, header, and final aem tuning) the tuning was about 10-12 total pulls. I was there the entire day and there was no tampering with the dyno equpiment, messing with tire pressure, putting the fan directly in front of the intake, or any other means of creating a higher dyno number.

Also I don't really understand what you are saying about my reasoning was initially flawed? Please refresh my memory.
