Maybe Honda Roadside Didn't Get the Memo
No real point to this post, just sharing my experience.
Driving to Best Buy the other eve. At each take off from traffic lights, back of the car was feeling a bit squirrelly. About 3 blocks from the store, the car is downright slippery...I mean drifting sideways kinda slippery.
I pulled into the parking lot and about lost my dinner when I found my rear right was flat...not on the rim, yet. I called Honda Roadside (HR). The rep was very nice and said they would send someone out as quickly as possible...usually an hour. Before we disconnected, I thought to mention to the lady that this model required the front to be transferred to the rear, and the spare placed on the front. After a couple of moments, she replied there were no special instructions in the system. I told her these were directives taken straight from the Honda Driver's Handbook for this model. She didn't have much more to say, just that I would get an automated confirmation call.
When the roadside guy arrived, I told him the change instructions, and he said he couldn't do it cuz it would be considered 2 actions...he was being paid for one. He called HR again, explained the current situation, and what I told him was printed in the manual. Guess she (diff rep) didn't see it in the system either, so asked to speak to me.
She said roadside guy could not do the tire rotation, just authorized for the tire change, then sheasked me why it had to be performed that way. Blah, blah, blah, I said...then the roadside guy asked me for the phone back. He told the rep he wasn't gonna leave a customer stranded, and it would be unsafe to put the spare on the rear of the car (?), and she should go and work it out with her mgr.
The guy began work on the FULL tire change. About 5 min in, phone rang...it was HR with an authorization number to perform 2 actions. Moral of the story...Honda Roadside should know the processes involved to perform routine roadside work. Sorry so lengthy...thx for reading.

Why didn't you just change the tires yourself? I'd thik I'd just do it rather than wait an hour for someone to show up and do it, unless I was just going to have the car towed to a tire place.
Mrfix, Saki, good points. To be honest I just didn't feel like changing a flat. I used the time to get the items I was after at Best Buy. Besides, I have roadside so I figured I would use it. But you did understand the reason I shared this post, didn't you?
I get your point. Honda should know their own damn instructions. But what kinda weenie are you to not change a friggin flat tire
You coulda been done with that whole situation in 10min. but instead it dragged on for quite awhile it seems.

Lol, I would be screwed if i got a flat. I dont have the spare in my car anymore. Heck I dont even know where it is besides possibly being in my shed, but im not digging through that mess. Oh and yeah it is awesome that Honda Roadside totally knows what they are doing.
