Is it me??? <Long Read>
i'll have to agree with what others have said.
torque feels fast, the s2000 is fast.
i'm not sure if you got to experience one of the great joys of the stook: at highway speeds in 6th and kicking it into 3rd for vtec. if you haven't, try it sometime.

Ditto on the Torque thing explained so well by UL.
I also owned and raced a GSR for years (what is it about current S2000 owners and GSR's?). I agree the GSR felt more ferocious. But I also KNOW my S2000 is quicker by every measure. Very smooth seductive power. There's less drama in tight turns and GSR tire squeal sounds fast. The S2000 engine is quieter to me (not the pipes, just noise under the hood).
When I'm on the street I find myself going faster than I used to, much faster after passing, not strictly a "good thing" in safety terms. Call it a lazy right foot.

A test drive ? Wow - you're lucky. I knew that this was the car for me when a first read a car mag report that ended with the line "you have to drive it like you hate it." Meaning that it ain't no wussy car (aka Miata - sorry my brother has one of those and I just can't resist the dig)
Question of perception...
I remember when I was first VTEC'ing my GSR, the needle would sweep toward redline very quickly once it VTEC'd (obviously, since the car has more power).
However, the rate at which the GSR redlined compared to the way the STOOK redlines seems different. The STOOK seems slower moving up toward redline.
I know in terms of numbers, the stook is faster. Maybe it has to do with the flat torque curve? Gearing???
Anyone else question this? Or am I just imagining this?
