Me vs M3, EVOs, STIs

so i'll still lose to an M3??? God damn it!!! What should I do to take those Germans down??
I am a gearhead, so I understand always wanting to be faster, but this just seems to me like you are buying a dumptruck and trying to use it as a bass boat. True, with enough money, you can get a dumptruck to float, but why not just buy a bass boat to start with if that is your thing? In the end, you will end up with a ton of money poured into your car that you will never get back, and all the guy in the EVO has to do is spend some money on mods and he is back in front.
The S2000 is a small, lightweight, 2 seat convertible with unreal handeling. A perfect car for a back road drive at 5/10ths, or at an autocross, or at a track day (road racing). Straight line drag racing just is not what this car does well. It's not slow, but Honda has already gotten all of the low hanging fruit, so getting more power costs a lot of money, and costs you in reliability more than if you started with a car like the Z28 where mods get you big hp cheap.
Just my opinion.
Oh, and watching race videos on the internet to determine who you can beat is not a good idea either. Just because on that day, that S2000 happened to beat that EVO in that race with that driver does not mean anything outside of that day, those cars, and those drivers, and that race.
I always hated doing test and tune at the drag strip with my 11 second Z28's because....I might just be practicing my launches, working on my 60 foot times while making changes to the rear suspention, so why beat on the car all the way down the track. Well, after I would lift at the top of 2nd, the other guy would make it by, and then talk trash all over the pits about how he "wasted" me. Ugh....
A well driven stock STi can hit 13.0. Seen a 13.1 in person, bone stock. Stock Evo could only dream of doing that. I was only able to get a 13.4 in my old STi (turbo-back exhaust, bad clutch). BUT, first time ever down the strip in my STi I ran a 15.11.
You will be able to beat anything, if the driver sucks. From a roll, STi or Evo should be cake (AWD) but from a dig (stop), you better be making a bit more power than they are.
E46 M3's really aren't all the fast in the quarter, even with 30 more horsepower than the STi. Where they shine is high-speed rolls.

i know, it's just that i watched a video of an S on streetfire.net and it had 4.57, ECU, Exhaust, Headers and CAI which is pretty much what I have. I also have a flywheel on top of it. and that S wins over the EVO. that's why I am curious.
If I go with FI, will I be able to go with an M3 or I will win easily over M3s and EVOs??

With the mods you are planing to do, you will kill an EVo8 given he is 100% stock from a roll by 1-2 cars. From a death stop, you will loose 2 cars in the first 3 nanoseconds and will pass him only somewhere very close to the top speed of both cars. A M3 wil still rape your ass, there is no way to beat them with a 2000cc engine and staying NA (maybe stripping the shit out of the S)
Now if any of your EVO8 friends put 30% of the money that you will spend on your S into his EVO, you will get toasted so badly that you will
Just a silly manual boost controller set at 21psi makes the EVO8 a really fast car that pulls from low rpm all the way to redline.Forget driver skills for a second, take just the numbers. A EVO8 has something you do not.....TURBO...so if you wanna play with those bigger guys, grow up, rape your bank account and get the same

A stock M is putting down the same kind of horse power as a out-of-the-box-bolted-on super charged S2000. The stock M still eats the super charged S up in torque, but the super charged S has a better chance from a roll.
One day Black Nugget and I are going to run. Black Nugget has a modified Comptech blower pushing, I think, 9 lbs of boost
- maybe more. He is also running on track rubber and has a few other things. He dyno'd 361hp. I only have a 10lb flywheel and might have exhuast by that time (adds maybe 2 hp
but shaves mucho weight off We'll run from a roll because we're both too scared to burn a clutch or diff (my car is not a drag machine). I know from a stand still I'd have him for a while, but his car is a top end monster.

Well, the video you are reporting to was me and my brother. I had V2 intake, Spoon throttle body, Spoon header, 4.57 gears but NO ECU. T1R exhaust and t1r test pipe.
