Default Media Bias

I still can't believe this is the same car the magazines refer to as almost undrivable.. i've driven it on 200 mile trips, in stop and go traffic, and on broken pavement.. According to car and driver I should be trading it in to cover chiropracty bills.

Its nowhere near as stiff as a z4 3.0, and i've driven them back to back on the same roads.

in 6th gear at 70 there is still enough torque to pull around a semi with gusto.. sure it won't throw you back in your seat but thats why they invented double clutch downshifts.

So far i'd rate my driving as spirited.. but the oversteer is still nowhere near as bad as in my E30 325. Even after 4 years I still never know when it'll bite. The S is so much more controllable in a slide and you really have to mean it to get into one (can't wait for winter!)

On the flip side, the cars lack of popularity compared to Z's etc. has meant that they've depreciated within my grasp.. thanks C&D, MT and R&T!!

If you really want brutal.. try an elise. I drove an old one on a racetrack and i can't immagine it on open roads. Oh yeah, and at 5'9" i can't get in and out.

I agree, I was reading a consumer reports mag last night and all though the car is reccomended, it isn't in their 5 best, or 10 best whatever it was. They had a bunch of other cars in the top convertible, roadster, class. IMO I think because honda hasn't redesigned a already awesome car, they probably think the look is outdated by todays, obese round 350z standards. Becase as you all know we want are cars to look obese and round.

exactly which media are you talking about? Car & Driver had the S on their 10 best in 2004, and maybe other years.

undriveable??
maybe if those people at C&D, MT, R&T go on a subway diet and loose about 65 lbs they will have a different opinion about the S2000..

this is exactly why i dont ever read american based car mags.

watch this clip.. this is what the British have to say about the S2k

I read an article from C&D about a shootout between an s2000, boxster, TT, z4 and a 350z roadster. The s2000 placed first

Why would you heel/toe just to pass someone on the highway? Makes no sense.

They fawned all over the S in the early years. It's at least partly due to the American car rags that I got jazzed about the S.

I'm not sure what they're saying now, but I don't recall anything recent that was particularly negative.

2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004 to be precise.

Aren't you preaching to the converted ?

If you own the car already why would you give a squirt of piss as to what a scribe thinks about your car
