I never buy the "new hotness" in anything and feel like I'm missing out on nothing but the original problems.

I would never buy the first generation of a new smart-phone or the first generation of a new model car. Let the first buyers pay the marked up price for an item that still has quite a few bugs to work out and buy the new/improved version for 50% less a year or 2 later!

45K?

MSRP here is 70,000$ USD

hahaha.

Premium on later models due to rarity I have seen take one S2K up to near 90,000$

Consider yourself lucky, Americans.

depending on the covers condition those are worth easily 120$! cool story.
And the bag that he gave him was probably worth a good $5.
Are we the only ones that caught that?

My s2000 sold to the original owner for $60,000. Thats after the taxes, warranty, and so on. That was in 2009. These cars are not cheap brand new

Very cool story though, you should have asked him what his s2ki name was.

Also, the first generation of owners made for a truly unique and cool community. Loved every moment of early ownership more than any other car I've owned...and on a personal note, back when I started my relationship with the S2k, I did the same with who was my gf and now my wife. The S2000 was very much apart of our relationship and still is.

my girlfriend hates my s2000
