Metal Protector for OEM Front Spoiler??
Well, it was bound to happen
; after nearly 3 months of CAREFULLY watching the front to assure I don't contact a curb.... I made a little contact tonight. I have seen a metal protector that I believe attaches to the bottom of the OEM front spoiler to "shield" the spoiler. I checked both Coastal Metals and H and A's site and don't see it. Is this still for sale?? Does it cover the bottom of the spoiler? Just wonder if it would cover the small
that I placed there this evening. The
is relatively low on the front spoiler.
Any leads on the protector and comments regarding it's function are greatly appreciated.

Bruce,
Coastal Metals has this item. I just received it last week. It is approximately 3" in width and is obviously curved to wrap around the underside of the front edge of the OEM front end. It will cover your existing damage. Since it is attached using the existing bolts that hold on the front end, they give you a set of slightly longer bolts to reattach everything. It should be a snap to install. I think that it is made of aluminum with a black powder coating. It has a sort of bumper, made up of a hard but non-metallic black material attached to the front edge which wraps over the top and bottom edges by approximately 1/4". If you can't find it on the Coastals Metals web site, call them and ask for Dave McCune, the owner, and he will answer any questions you have. It looks like a good product.

The last info we had here was that Coastal Metals was still working on the front protector for cars with the front OEM spoiler. The ones they sell currently (the standard one and the splitter) will not work if you have the spoiler.
"littleton" - are you saying that they have now produced the one for cars with the spoiler?

xviper,
The item that I purchased is for the stock front end. I am guilty of skimming over Bruce's post
and saw only the OEM reference assuming that he meant the original stock front end. Sorry.
