Excuse us Mr.Professional. cause you know it all It dosnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that your car at this point is Power to Weight. DUH!
BTW this guy is still your daddy
That guy graduated college with me and lived next door. I was kinda responsible for getting him and his roomate into miatas. They have six between the 2 of them now. That car is sick, but its undrivable even with the rubber he has on it.
.......FENDER FLARES ARE SICK THOUGH!!!...they came off one of the mazdaspeed prototype factory racecars.
After working much harder than we should have stripping the roll cage and battling some deep rust on the seat mounts and on the floor pan, I decided that we needed some specialty equipment. A trip to Lowe's did the trick, I bought another can of Rust Reformer (did I mention how great this stuff is?), two pairs of gloves, three different coarse wire wheels, a snake extension, and some supplies for a small project (more on that later).
Day three of stripping/paint prep begins:
The new tools:
These are some of the trouble spots in the floor pan, you can see that we've ground away most of the rust:
The original red paint & primer are good enough to prime over so all we do is scuff it up to create a good surface:
On the cage however, the stripping is much more invloved (for once I'm not the one taking the pictures!):
All of the welds must be taken down to as bare as possible to be ready for primer:
As work continues on that, we switch over to the secondary project of the night, a hardtop hoist...
In order to gain precious real estate in the garage (for when we pull the engine out), we decided to hang the hard top from the ceiling....
Finding studs/hanging hooks:
Hanging the ropes:
Ready for the test lift!
Well then, now that the hardtop is out of the way.... back to the action!
Here are the results:
Tonight we'll vacuum the whole car, blow it out with the air compressor, prepsol, wipe, prepsol, wipe, pop blisters, prepsol, wipe, and prime the rest of the interior...
Looking nice  Now going back to the question where do I get the fender flares? I want to flare my S but don't want to go with a wide body kit.
They don't make flares like that for the S, you need to get wide front fenders and rear (horrid looking) overfenders.
