Day 23

Some fuel lines courtesy of M.O.P Auto Salvage....

Miata and S2000 fuel pump assemblies:

The idea here is to transplant the S2000 pump to the Miata assembly.

Dropping the subframe:

Now to feed the fuel lines....

Some GQ poses:

All fun and games until we realize that we also have to drop the rear subframe to snake the lines up to the top of the fuel tank

I had no doubt Wuchan....

Bam!

After seeing where they end up (on the exhaust side of the S2000 engine), I decided to cross them over inside the trans tunnel (along with the brake line) to the driver's side of the car.

Mean while Juan and Jose built the engine crane:

And my dad put the S2000 pump in the Miata assembly:

The "LOL" is because there is a cherry picker and a stand, she just didn't see it right next to her.

Day twenty-fo

Removing the fenders & bumper:

Ever put yourself in an engine's shoes? That's what I did:

It changes your perception of combustion...

Right, so I bent the lines as close as I could to the top of the trans tunnel and fastened them:

Final check of the engine before it goes on the hoist:

I took this time to replace the broken knock sensor and model for the camera:

More engine action:

Not sure what's going on here..

Up up!

Incoming!

This part took forever, it's a royal pain to line all of these bolts up while worrying about the spline going in:

Close!!

Finally:

Tightening the top bolts:

Our entertainment:

Hey look! a header!

Connecting the trans mount:

The header fits great without the subframe in...

Dario was also part timing on the taillights on and off (get it?):

And we called it a night:
