Use more force? I dont use ANY force to close mine! I just let gravity do its thing!...lol.

Are u saying that the CAI hits the hood when it closes? Wont that put a little dent in the hood, since its aluminum?

....I know, its one of my faults...

I still dont get why u would need more force to close the hood if u have a CAI in there

Guys with concern of the Spoon CAI in comparisons over the Import Development CAI should read the "JDM Spoon Cold-air Induction Pipe" thread. There are latest road tests and reviews accordingly.

Well mine ended up rubbing on the underside of the hood. Made a couple scratches on the CAI. Anybody else had this problem? I ended up putting rubitex on the hood where it hit and also padded around the air box intake to make a better seal with the same foam. The hum is a lot louder now!(after sealing the intake)

I used a incent to produce smoke to find out where there was a seal that wasn't totally sealed. I'm sure it won't make much of a difference but hay it makes me feel better.

After a day of driving around the car seems to have realized that there is more air to be had and is slightly gaining in power. It seemed to have decreased power at first(ECU flipping out probably). Now after sometime on the road its pulling better. Though I'm sure a hundred or so miles will make more power.

The power is getting even better! Looks like the car is learning to deal with the extra air.

Try 1/4" foam weatherstripping. I use it to keep the hood from scratching/ cracking the CAI. By the way, try waxing the CAI. I used Meguires liquid wax and the CAI just shines soo brightly now. Latez!

1. Does just removing the air box cover help with airflow & performance?

2. Can I get the web for this CAI so I can examine it in more detail?

3. Does everybody agree that you get a performance bump?
